This is a collection of thoughts/essays that express my ideas and my way of looking at the world. Although I frequently reference my beliefs as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes referred to as the “Mormon” Church, or–more correctly–the LDS Church), and although I write only what I believe to be true and orthodox, my views should never be assumed to be the official stance or doctrine of the LDS Church. Please visit http://lds.org or http://mormon.org for information regarding official teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
A few things to know about me:
– I’m in the first year of a Master of Theological Studies degree program. I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in English. My areas of emphasis are modern European history (particularly WWII and the Holocaust) and Christian history. I like to study the role religion played in historical events, especially as an impetus for resistance efforts during WWII.
– I served a full-time eighteen month mission for the LDS Church. My area of service was the Crimean Peninsula of southern Ukraine. I speak Russian fluently, I love the Ukrainian people, and I love Russian literature.
– The most important things in my life are 1) my relationship with God, 2) my relationship with my family (husband, parents, and ten siblings), 3) the relationships I build with others. I believe God’s greatest creation on earth is His children–all mankind. I also believe that His second greatest creation is light.
